ABOUT US.

Themi Valley Eco and Cultural Tourism Homestay was formed on July,  2010.
The Organization history can be categorized in different perspectives, in which every perspective has its own uniqueness and importance.

 Travel Experience and Foreign Studies*
The idea to establish  Themi Valley Homestay was developed by mama Lydia Joachim from the experiences she gained long time ago when she visited Rome in Italy and Harare in Zimbabwe.
In 1991 In Rome she was offered an accomodation for one month at home stay facilities as she was not able to afford hotel expenses because she was a student living on stipend allowance.
She lived in that family very comfotably and the payment per day was very conduicive and affodable.

In 1994 while attending International Conference in Harare, mama Lydia had an opportunity to visit Zimbabwe home in the urban area with other participants.
Upon visiting such a home, the host family conducted formal and structured Cultural activities for conference delegates who are guided to visit the home during weekends.
The aim here was  to expose them to  learn cultural activities such as traditional meals, uses of indigenous trees and History of Zimbabwe.

 National Competition and Awards.
The dream was then achieved when the founder, Mama Lydia Joachim won a competition advertised in the Daily News Paper in the year 2010.
Among 3000 competitors who participated from Arusha and Kilimanjaro Regions( Northern zone) the Themi Valley Concept Paper on  initiating Themi Valley Home Stay was selected together with other  100 Winners from  this zone  .
The Facilitation of this  process was conducted by the Business School of University of Dar es Salaam at National level. The  selected  3000 winners from all country zones were trained for two weeks on how to develop viable and practical  Business Plans based on already individual Concept Papers. 80 Best Business Plans, Themi Valley  included won the Award of service provision's value amounting to Tsh 5,000,000 for each Winner. The vendors to provide these services were identified by the organizer's and directly paid by the Fund Agencies supporting entrepreneurship in  Tanzania.
For the Themi Valley activities support  through this Award included costs incurred to Pay to prepare Company Memorandum,  Articles of Association and BRELLA Registration.

Her idea was also catalyzed by Tanzania  Ministry of natural Resources and Tourism under its Tourism board in collaboration with Netherlands Development Organization ( SNV)  on the same year 2010 when Cultural Tourism Programs were given a mandate and legal approval to operate in the country.
Therefore,   Themi Valley Eco and Cultural Tourism Company Co is a legal entity since 2010.

WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SAYING

“Hamza is most helpful. He picked me from the airport and took me back to the airport. He also took me around Arusha, the art gallery, Germany Bona, masai market, local market etc. After my 5 days safari I returned to the home stay . Hamza had my luggage stored safely and they did my laundry. The last 2 days that I spent in Arusha was made memorable by Hamza. He drove me out to Kilimanjaro and the hot springs. On the last day he took me canoeing on lake Duluti and he even managed to get me all the way to the bottom of the valley at Mount Meru to see the water fall. The home stay accommodation was very comfortable, nice bed, helpful staff, good breakfast and I also got a flask of hot water every evening so that I could have an early cup of coffee.”
